Omschrijving: Is situated in La Rosa, El Paso, a few minutes far from the viewpoint of La Cumbrecita, a place where it is posible to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Caldera de Taburiente. The silence is broken only by the lenguage of the grajas (typical birds of La Palma). A careful work of restauration of this fantastic canarian house is bringing back all the magic and beauty of the pass. The owners adapt the magic of this old construction in modern needs. Plates of the sun give energy to the different household appliances and the sewage is used for sprinkling the garden. For this reason, la Higuerita is an ecologic house. It has two double sleeping room, a very nice sitting room all is harmonizing with the wooden floor and the sofas situated beside to the iron fire place. Each room transmite a sensation of peace and specially in the kitchen you can feel it because the squared curtains are substituted to furnitures. It is very important the protagonis of the traditional oven of mud. From the terraces of the building you will see this quiet place of dry land with many almend trees.![]() |  |

| El Paso: |
El Paso is een dorp en een gebied aan de westkant van La Palma, bekend om de Caldera, een enorme erosiekrater met een doorsnede van zo'n 8 km en een omtrek van bijna 20 km.
Bij het Centro de visitantes kunt u informatie krijgen omtrent de Caldera. Niet alleen informatie over het ontstaan en de historie maar ook hoe u veilig en op een goede manier kunt wandelen in de Caldera.
Vanaf de diverse uitzichtpunten zoals La Cumbrecita, La Cancelita en Llano de Los Jables bekijkt u alle kanten van het gebied El Paso.
Ook vindt u er een klein vogelpark paraíso de las aves. Zeker een bezoek waard is het zijdemuseum Museo de la seda. |
